Any transistor, amplifier or any other circuit has a certain noise figure
which can be measured by a Noise Figure Analyzer or a Spectrum Analyzer with
a dedicated software package. In reality the true noise figure is depending
on the impedance of the source feeding the DUT.
A typical noise measurement system measures noise at several known soure
impedances and so determines the noise parameters (minimum noisefigure: Fmin,
complex optimum source impedance or reflection coefficient and the specific
noise resistance Rn).
Maury Microwave is offering a full spectrum of tuner solutions for these applications. Users have the choice between very fast and compact electronic tuners (0.3 GHz – 40 GHz) or mechanical tuners (0.25 GHz – 110 GHz) with a broad frequency range and a high VSWR (up to > 30:1). Models are available for coaxial as well as waveguide connection. A detailed description of a typical setup is ready for download below.
